Claude Gaspari’s work invites us on an artistic journey to a place infused with the intimate poetry of contemporary art. For more than thirty years, he has been the chosen photographer of the great painters and sculptors of the twentieth century. At the end of the 1980s, he was pushed by his friends in the art world to begin focusing on his personal work. His photography of architecture and urban environments reveal images that ordinarily escape our attention. Through the choice of their composition, they transform simple photographic reporting, revealing an imaginary world painstakingly drawn from reality. Claude Gaspari controls his art in that none of his photography is retouched. The image presented is strictly the reality seen through the photographer’s lens, without any interference. The emotional effect they stir within the viewer is just as real as the images themselves.
