The pictorial approach of Eric Lepoureau to painting is primarily concentrated on forms and abstraction. It translates however into paintings filled with a mysterious atmosphere evoking theater or movie scenes, where one can guess the presence of characters hidden in shadows or emerging in full light. The artist plays with light and shade in a tradition which evokes the art of Vermeer and Rembrandt, the great masters of the 17th century.
